Reflection on Host Culture Trip

Soren
On the host country trip we were staying at a cambodian home stay in Takeo provence. It was really fun learning all about the people who lived there and about the schools and plants. We did a lot of fun activities such as a scavenger hunt, interviewing the school students, playing sports with the students, biking, and playing with friends. We went on our first bike ride right before lunch. I was the longer ride of the 2 bike trips. We stopped and had lunch at a nice little area and then we kept on going. Almost everybody fell down on the whole length of that trip. I even fell down. When we got back from the first bike ride, we started doing what most kids do when they are bored: play, eat, or read. After everybody calmed down and we ate dinner, we went to look at the constellations with our ipads. In the morning we went on a little walk and then we ate breakfast. after that, when everybody was awake, we went on another bike ride. It was led by mr. Andy and he went into the sand and off road a lot. It was really fun. After that, we got back and packed up our stuff. We got our bikes in the trucks and then we walked back to the bus. We got back to school right before lunch.

Last week some of the Grade 4/5 went onto a field trip in Takeo to have a bike ride in the rice fields to see the beautiful vision. We stayed in a place that was sort of like a guest house which was beside a school where older kids were taught English.

When we arrived at about ten in the morning, we had a bike ride for 30km. We had a packed lunch and we ate by a small pond where we stopped in more or less the middle of nowhere. We kept on going for a long time and I was mostly at the front because my gears were switched to 3 and 7 which is the highest speed that my bike can drive at. We drove untill we came to the mainroad where we stopped, turned around, and went back. I played soccer with some of my friends in the evening against the bigger kids and we also played a game where we had to sing, "Keep the concentration of the rhythm of the rythm of the beat," or something like that.
Dinner was chicken, omolet, rice etc. I shared a room with Louis, Soren and Dong Ha at night and they were good roommates. Soren was the ,"insect killer," because there were many flying bugs around the cabin so he jumped out and started killing them with eitherinsect killer or with a broom.

We had pancakes for breakfast, right before we took off for anoother bike ride but it wasn't so bad...
After that, we went back on the bus to school and we arrived at nearly one which was the time we ate lunch.
We spent the rest of the afternoon doing something that showed what we learned on that trip.
The next two days were a bit confusing because the classrooms had been split because there were three teachers that were in Bangkok, Thailand on the Barge Trip. (Ms. Allison Fenzl taught me) AND IT WAS FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
