PE integration with maths

This week students have been practicing the skill of map reading, that they have covered in maths, through orienteering activities in PE, using the iPad app Klikaklu.

Students were given a clue in the form of a map reference. Using their map of school they go to that location, and press to reveal an item that they have to photograph in that area. If they get it correct, the next grid reference is revealed to them.

Semester 2 Units

This semester we have started some new units. EY and KG students are participating in a sending and receiving unit, while the G1 students are creating dance that express emotions. This is integrated with the classroom unit of inquiry. Meanwhile G2-5 students are participating in Striking and Fielding units, where they are playing lots of different games involving them developing the skills of striking and fielding games. We have posted some instructional videos to help the students on the striking and fielding page. For those students who are interested in developing these skills further, we will be travelling to NISC on the 10th February for some T-ball games.

We would like to remind parents that as well as wearing ISPP PE uniform for each lesson, students also need to wear a hat.
