Rhythmic Gymnastics

G5 have just finished a rhythmic gymnastic unit, where they have created sequences  showcasing their gymnastic skills while using either a ball, hoop or ribbons.

Impressed by the many performances in the Assembly, Kindergarten students spent some time in PE trying to perform some the skills.

Grade 1 Dance - representing different emotions

Grade 1 students have spent the last few weeks in groups creating dances to represent emotions, which links in with the homeroom unit. Each student became an expert in one section of the dance, representing one emotion. They then had to teach their dance to the rest of their group, before choreographing all their moves together and adjusting as needed. Students then performed and recorded their dances on the field, which acted as a green screen, before choosing a background to add to the dance.

Grade 1 Dance

As Grade 1 students have continued to build up to creating their own emotion dances, this week they have been listening to a wide range of different music and selecting which emotions they think it represents. They have then started to look at how these different emotions can be represented by different dance actions.

Here a few different emotions being danced out.
