Gymnastics and Net Games

Our final units of the year involves G5 students participating in a variety of net games as they look at the Central Idea: While different cultures might have different variations of Net Games, the skills and strategies required to play successful are often very similar.

At the same time we are also looking at different body systems used in Net Games and Swimming. So far we have examined the effect of exercise on our CV system and looked at different muscle groups at work in these activities.

EY2 to G4 students are participating in gymnastic units where they are undertaking a variety of jumping/flight, rolling, balancing, swinging and locomotion activities.

Students are also developing their cooperate skills as they learn to support and teach each other skills.

Today the KG students all received intensive coaching as the G5's popped into their PE to teach them a basic roll, jump and balance sequence.

There were a few times where the KG students ended up have to help out the G5s!

Student Led Conferences

Thank you to all the parents who came to the Student Led Conferences. There was a great atmosphere in the gym, with students demonstrating their learning, teaching their parents and playing and dancing with them.

We will be holding more sharing lessons for students and parents in Grade 3 to 5 next week.
