Grade 2 students have been working on Striking and Fielding games. This week they have been practicing their fielding skills while playing Tic Tac Toe. Students had to stand in the square they wanted to put their marker in and catch a ball thrown to them by their partner. If they caught the ball they could claim the square. They also practiced striking a ball off a Tee, and inquired into how to get the ball go in different directions, after noticing last week that they were not too good at hitting the ball into spaces.
We have also gone into the gym and introduced the concepts of running to bases while having great fun playing gymnastics rounders.
