Gr 5: Rhythmic Gymnastics
Grade 5 have started their Rhythmic Gymnastics unit. Students will inquiry into gymnastics movements using a hoop, ball and ribbon. Students will connect their movement patterns to create a sequence. 
Lines of inquiry 
•    The different techniques of the following fundamental movements concepts:     
           balance, shape, roll, turn, jump, land
•    Study and practise these techniques in a safe and efficient sequence
•    Create a sequence using a range of physical movements, with hoop, ball or ribbon.

  • What are? (Form)- What skills are required for a rhythmic gymnastics routine? 
  • How do? (Function)- How do the skills influence the routine? 
  • How does? (Change)- How does the addition of a hoop, ball, ribbon or music impact on the routine? 
  • What is? (Reflection)- What determines a quality routine or sequence of movements using rhythmic gymnastics equipment?
